Seven Days In Sunny June - Jamiroquai
A laid back soul/funk tune from Jay Kay and his band, featuring guitar player is Rob Harris. Barre chords are the challenge here.
The guitar starts this tune off solo. A very nice strummed acoustic guitar part. Many of the chords here make up the bulk of the song so make sure you get them nailed.
I've presented this part on Electric for ease of recording but if you can, play it on an acoustic for a really authentic sound.
The piano leads the way in the verses of this tune with the guitar not actually playing. However there is no reason we can't learn the chords and play along anyway!
Be sure to watch the end of the video for the breakdown of the 'Piano Style' right hand technique.
Full funk mode engage!
High voicing of Bm and F#m7 and a very percussive rhythm part make this chorus great fun to play.
Chorus 2 and 3 are both double the length of the first. The guitar part is the same so the whole part is repeated over again.
